The Blood Brothers, 11/8/24 at The Belasco, Los Angeles
Everyone likes The Blood Brothers... but do they love them? The people at this show sure did! The crowd was ecstatic to see Johnny Whitney and the rest of the band. This tour was extremely important for both new and old fans because of the endless "hiatus" they took in '07. The surprise of a tour in 2024 was a shock to everyone!
Their setlist included everyone's favorites; "Love Rhymes With Hideous Car Wreck," "Set Fire to the Face on Fire," "Ambulance vs. Ambulance," and "Trash Flavored Trash" If you haven't yet heard of this sassy, mathy, and sporadic band, now is your opportunity to get to know them! You won't regret it.
The Blood Brothers were always an influential band, especially to the San Diego music scene, which is why we had to cover them! In the year 2005, they were just playing the Che Cafe, locally supporting The Locust. Of course, Michael of S.O.S. was there to experience it for himself, as Anastasia wasn't born yet.
The opener, was of course Deafclub. Justin Pearson, another well known staple in punk, is the frontman of Deafclub and previously, the vocalist of The Locust.
The overall show was an excellent experience. Thank you Johnny for letting us come out to photograph you!
